Nikki R. is the founder of Medical Wig Supply, a patient-centered cranial prosthesis and medical hair solutions company focused on supporting individuals experiencing medically related hair loss and scalp-related conditions.
With a unique background that bridges healthcare, counseling, business strategy, and the hair industry, Nikki brings a multidisciplinary perspective to the evolving field of medical hair restoration and cranial prosthetics.
Before entering the medical hair space, Nikki spent years working in pharmaceutical sales with a specialty focus in internal medicine, where she collaborated with specialists, provider offices, community advisory boards, and clinical teams. Through that experience, she developed a strong understanding of healthcare systems, patient communication, provider relations, and the importance of compassionate, patient-centered support. She independently pursued advanced training through the CMR Institute in biopharmaceutical sales, healthcare reimbursement, and the manufacturer-to-patient supply chain — building a foundation that directly informs how Medical Wig Supply navigates insurance and DMEPOS systems today.
Nikki holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Master's Degree in Business, and a Healthcare Marketing Certificate from Pepperdine University's Graziadio Business School. She holds an active Community Health Worker I (CHW I) certification through the Nevada Certification Board and an active Nevada Resident Insurance Producer License — giving her a practical and deeply informed understanding of both patient advocacy and payer systems.
In 2020, Nikki founded a hair replacement and wig solutions company, where she gained extensive experience in wig customization, sourcing, manufacturing, and hair replacement systems. She later traveled throughout Southeast Asia to work directly with suppliers and manufacturers, gaining firsthand insight into the global wig and hair industry. But the seed for Medical Wig Supply was planted long before that — through her own years as a fashion wig wearer.
As a longtime wig enthusiast, Nikki had spent years navigating the same frustrating cycle — wigs that smelled of factory chemicals straight out of the box, brittle hair that shed after a few washes, highly processed strands that looked beautiful in the package and fell apart within weeks. She spent the money. She did the research. She tried brand after brand. And she kept thinking:
"If this is my experience choosing to wear a wig — what does someone feel like when their hair loss isn't a choice?"
Medical Wig Supply was built to answer that question with dignity.
One of the company's most significant commitments is to patients who have historically been underserved by the cranial prosthesis market — specifically Black, Brown, and multicultural patients. Every prosthesis is custom-fitted and individually crafted, matched to the client's natural hair color and texture, including yaki, kinky straight, and Afro-textured styles. Where appropriate, a client's own biological hair can be incorporated into the prosthesis. This is not an off-the-shelf product. It is a medically necessary, custom-fabricated cranial prosthetic device — and every patient deserves one that actually looks and feels like them.
Today, Nikki is focused on expanding Medical Wig Supply into a comprehensive provider of cranial prosthesis and medical hair support services that prioritize education, accessibility, privacy, emotional support, and collaboration with healthcare professionals. Her work centers around helping bridge the gap between the beauty, medical, and emotional aspects of hair loss care while advocating for higher standards, patient dignity, individualized support, and improved access to medically supportive hair loss solutions.
Nikki continues to pursue advanced education in trichology, scalp disorders, cranial prosthetics, insurance systems, and multidisciplinary patient care as she develops a long-term vision for medically integrated hair loss support services.
Nikki R. is building the business she wished existed for every patient who ever sat across from an oncologist and didn't know that dignified, medically appropriate, culturally competent cranial prosthetic care was available to them.
